FUNDING THE BIGGEST POSSIBLE FUTURE!
Including a provision for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas in your estate plan is the ultimate way to continue investing in your values even after you’re gone. You can find a charitable plan that lets you provide for your family and create a legacy of defending the potential of Central Carolina youth. Below are a few easy options to structure a charitable estate gift:
1. GIVE THROUGH LIFE INSURANCE.
By making BBBSCC the beneficiary of your life insurance, you retain lifetime ownership of the policy and also have the right to cash it in, or borrow against it.
2. GIVE RETIREMENT ASSETS.
Properly structured retirement assets grow tax-free, and for some individuals, eventually exceed actual needs. By designating Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas as a full or partial beneficiary, funds pass free of taxes.
3. DONOR ADVISED FUNDS
Continue empowering youth while streamlining your giving and tax benefits through the financial institution of your choice.
3. STOCK
Appreciated assets, such as common stock or mutual fund shares, can generate capital gains tax if sold. By giving them as a charitable gift, you avoid capital gains tax and receive a charitable tax deduction based on current market value.
4. CHARITABLE REMAINDER TRUST
A charitable remainder trust establishes income for you and/or beneficiaries. The income period can be a specified period of time under 20 years, or for the life of the income beneficiary (or beneficiaries). Then the BBBSCC receives the remaining balance in the trust.
5. WILLS & BEQUESTS
A bequest is a gift of assets or property to a beneficiary. It is the easiest gift to make with no or minimal out of pocket expense to establish and is revocable if you change your will prior to death. Because a charitable bequest can reduce estate taxes, it often results in long-term benefits.
