Our Community-Based program allows the Big and Little to meet at their convenience, typically on weekends or after school.  This continues to be our largest group of mentoring relationships.

Community-Based Mentoring

Many relationships between Bigs and Littles fall under our Community-Based program. These are one-to-one outings and activities, doing things they enjoy together, like:

  1. Taking a walk in the park: A relaxing way to connect while enjoying nature, offering plenty of time to talk or just appreciate the surroundings.
  2. Going to a museum: A fun way to explore art, science, or history while sparking curiosity and conversation.
  3. Listening to music: Whether at a live event or just sharing favorite playlists, music can create an emotional bond and bring joy.
  4. Hanging out and talking: Simple yet powerful, this is about giving full attention and being present, building trust and deepening the relationship.
  5. Attending a Big Brothers Big Sisters match event: These organized events allow for both mentor and mentee to connect in a group setting, while still building their one-on-one relationship.

Bigs meet their Littles on the weekends and sometimes after school or early evening. Each match is unique and develops a schedule that works for them..
